December Daily® Memories Album | Days 16-17

It's Froggy Friday at The Lilypad and it's also the third Friday of the month which means it's Mixed Media Monthly (M3) release day too. I had fun playing with the M3 releases to try to incorporate them into my December album. It's soooo gorgeous and I can't wait to show you a couple more days in my album!

  • DAY SIXTEEN: I used Heidi Swapp Color Shine and a paint brush to color the Color Magic paper behind the cut file I had previously made. I love the contrast. I'm still using the Paislee Press templates, but decided to add some fun papers and doodles from the M3 add-ons. I totally love how it turned out. It matches perfectly with the wrapping paper from my photo.

December Daily® Memories Album | Days 9-15

Confession time: I created most of these scrapbook pages yesterday, and took the photos at last night. I didn't have my lighting set up quite right so you can totally tell. I'm in robot mode, trying to finish up Christmas presents and still try to spend quality time with the kids while we're taking some time off from homeschooling to focus on Advent.

That means, this is going to be a fly-by post just sharing the photos and the perfectionist in me is totally going to "let it go" with the photos. I do however plan to have a video walk through of my album once it's totally finished.

  • DAY NINE: I totally missed taking photos, so I grabbed a tag from a coat I bought for one of the kids that day. It was a busy evening of shopping with the family. We had to buy a holiday dress for Moriah and Isaac's winter coat was too small. We also did our normal Tuesday night Costco and Trader Joe's trip.

December Daily® Memories Album | Days 4 - 8

I'm still keeping up to date in my December Daily® Memories Album, even with all the crazy busy schedules and parties. I am determined to stay on track and honestly the blog is keeping me accountable too. I actually whipped up all four days yesterday during the kids' quiet time. *fist pump*

I really think the key is to just pick a template or two and one photo that represents the day and go with it. I don't need to fill the day with several photos, I just need to tell the story of the day and make it quick and easy so that I can have fun with the kiddos.

  • DAY FOUR: We put together the kids' tree in the family room. I just resized the image to 6"x8" and added an element and font (number) and clipped a paper to them. Then I adhered it to the back of the previous page and punched out my holes. The "Deck The Halls" page was previously created.

More December Memories Album Preparation - The Lilypad Document Your December Releases

It's my favorite time of year at The Lilypad! There are so many great releases throughout the year, but my fave is definitely the Document Your December releases. The best part is that it's the same week as Mixed Media Monthly so there's all sorts of great mixed media releases mixed in. I'm really loving the color palette this year too.

Here are my pages using some of the goodies. I grabbed all of Paislee Press' releases, they're just so YUMMY and had a ton of fun using the cut files. I can't wait to cut out some more with the Silhouette this weekend.

Workflow Wednesday: December Album Prepartions

This will be my fifth year doing a December memories album (based of Ali Edwards' December Daily and Shimelle's Journal Your Christmas) and I can't tell you how much I love these albums. My kids look at them almost on a weekly basis. It's so fun to look back and see how we've changed not just in years but in our traditions and how we celebrate and prepare for Christmas.

Today, I wanted to share with you how I'm putting together the album. I like the 6"x8" album size but this year I decided to go back to a traditional mini album format and stick just a few pocket pages in the mix.

October/November 2014: Week 44 in our weekly pocket scrapbook album

This was the week of Ali Edwards' Week In The Life, so I had a million photos. I still do both the Week In The Life album seperately and one page in my scrapbook album. The scrapbook album is just a summary of the week. The Week In The Life album is much more detailed.

I've actually been working on my Week In The Life album and hope to have it done this weekend. I've got all the photos sorted and inserted in the album. I've also filled it with journal cards and papers already. Next will be the fun part of documenting and embellishing. I like getting it done as soon as possible so everything is fresh in my mind.

Anyways, it's BYOC (Build Your Own Collab) weekend at The Lilypad and I had so much fun putting this together. It's been a busy week here so I went with simple and done, but still "me".

October 2014 - Weeks 42 and 43 in my pocket scrapbook album

Happy Halloween and Happy {international}Digital Scrapbook Day Weekend!!!

I'm excited to share something new at The Lilypad this weekend! They now have a monthly pocket scrapbooking subscription! The mixed media monthly was such a hit that it only seemed perfect to add in the other part of what makes The Lilypad so awesome and diverse, it's pocket scrapbookers!

October 2014 - Week 41 in my weekly pocket scrapbook album

I'm really excited to share this cool page with you! I know that I usually always use Design A for my pages and sometimes I'll use Design H for an insert. I just find it so much easier for planning purposes to stick with the same design.

At the Daydream Event last month, I got this really cool panoramic page protector and I've fallen madly in LOVE with it and think I need to run to Michaels and pick up a box. I'm sure the fact that it's pretty similar to Design A, that made it easy to put together. I just needed eight 4"x6" cards. I did use some 3"x4" cards to layer on top.

That's my tip for you this week, use up your 3"x4" cards by layering them over the 4"x6" journal cards.

This is what it looks like all folded up and in my album...

October 2014 - Week 40 in my pocket scrapbook album and some changes to the blog...

Phew!!! That's a really long title, LOL! I've been doing a lot of thinking about the blog and my creative team responsibilities and our homeschool routine and decided to make some changes to the routine on the blog.

Since the beginning, I've been posting my weekly pocket pages on Mondays, workflow tutorials on Wednesdays and mixed media tutorials on Fridays and then recently added in the art journal Bible tutorials on Thursdays.

The problem with sharing my pages on Mondays is that the sale is that I'm usually using new releases for my creative team requirements at The Lilypad, but the sale is over. So, I will now be moving them to Fridays. I'm hoping that if you're inspired by my pages and want that product, you'll be able to get them while they are on sale instead of afterwards.

What does that mean for the mixed media tutorials? Well, I'm just going to switch them to Mondays. These tutorials were a much bigger hit than I anticipated and I find that with our homeschool schedule it's difficult for me to get photos and projects done during the week.

Have I told you yet that homeschooling this year is kicking my butt? I still love it, it's just taking a lot more time and energy and I need to focus on them during the week and writing/photography during the weekends. Thankfully, I have a super supportive husband who knows how much this blog means to me, and I couldn't do this without him.

So, we've skipped week 39, which is actually done... but I wanted to share Week 40 with you while the digital supplies are on sale at The Lilypad. I'm sooooo in LOVE with the Mixed Media Monthly kits and add-ons and couldn't wait to use them.

Speaking of The Lilypad, this was the week that I went with some friends to Kansas to hang out and scrapbook... we just all happen to know each other from The Lilypad, so I couldn't resist using the awesome kits for this page. Hubby and the kiddos went to Michigan and had a blast!

Journal Card Freebie: Birthday Gift For You From Me

Tomorrow is my 41st birthday which means today is my last day of being 40, EEK! I will have to admit that 40 was great! I was worried last year that I would hate middle age, but this year proved me wrong.

This year I finally figured out who God created me to be and am moving forward in being "ME" and doing what God gifted me to do. I am so incredibly full of joy, even on the tough days. I can't even tell you how fulfilling this year has been.

This blog has been such a joy teaching and inspiring! I look forward to many more years with you!

Hubby will confirm that my love language is "gifts". I always like sharing and giving gifts and designed these cards for you. It was fun putting these together and I hope you like them as much as I do. I can't wait to print them out and use them in my special birthday insert I do for each of us every year in my Project Life album.
