We're back with a new edition to the Gelli Plate series. First, we made simple backgrounds, then we used masks, and last week we used texture. This week we'll be using stencils.
Mixed Media Tutorial: 4 Easy Steps Using A Gelli Plate and Texture
I'm back with another edition of the Gelli Plate tutorials. We first made simple backgrounds, then we used masks to make fun designs. Today we're going to dive into using texture. This is lots of fun and I have you tell you that you can do so much more than what I'm showing you with these textures I found in the kids' craft section at Walmart.
Mixed Media Tutorial: 4 Easy Steps with a Gelli Plate and Masks

Mixed Media Tutorial: 4 Step Gelli Plate Intro

I'm super excited to share with you some tutorials using one of my favorite tools, the Gelli Plate. I use it a lot and I can't believe I haven't shared it with you yet. It is definitely in my top ten tools for mixed media art. I have the 6"x6" one, but really want all of them, there is just so much you can do with both the little ones and the larger ones. I also think the circle one is really cool too.
Today I'm going to show how I prep my papers and then a base print with the Gelli Plate. This is going to be a series because there is just so much you can do with it. Have I told you how much I love this tool?!
Art Journal Bible: Deli Paper Collage Tutorial
While I was away in Kansas on a scrapbook retreat with dear friends, I was able to get some painting done. I actually didn't do any scrapbooking, but just bought several bottles of acrylic paint and had some fun with my Gelli plate making deli paper prints.
These were perfect for adding to my Art Journal Bible, and I'm going to show you how easy it is to do.

Home Decorating Heather Greenwood Style: Wall Art
The last three weekends have been all about exploring my artistic gifts. I think I've finally figuring out my "style" and feeling really refreshed and rejuvenated and ready to explore this mixed media art more.
I don't know exactly where it's going to lead me, but I will say that I'm having a blast. This weekend my parents were here for my birthday and now that the kitchen remodel is basically done, I'm creating some art for the walls.
Several of these pieces started out as pieces I painted and stenciled and created while in Kansas two weekends ago. I really LOVE how they turned out! I love just staring at my reading nook/homeschool room/library/living room. It's become my favorite wall in the house. I can't wait to work on more wall art!!!
What do you think? Do you want to see some tutorials and process photos on how I put them together? Which one is your favorite?
