Sometimes, we just have to learn from our mistakes... and ask our friends for help!

Why is that? Why do we have to make mistakes first before we ask our girlfriends for help? I have to tell you I am having a great time learning soooo much from the Sweet Stamp Shop team. Seriously, I am so very thankful for the opportunity to learn from so many stamping experts as I'm re-learning things I used to be an expert at. It's amazing how much stamp inks have changed and new products on the market since I was an expert rubber stamper 20+ years ago.

Sometimes, I have to make several samples before I get an image that was what I envisioned... I made six samples of this card before I got one I liked for the tutorial LOL

June 2014 - PL Week 24 in my weekly pocket scrapbook album

I might have run out of ink this week and need to run out and get some more... so, my hybrid page this is is truly hybrid and a mix of not only digital goodies, but also some of my ever growing stash of paper goodies. I always love Just Jaimee's and Mommyish's Real Life In Pockets collaborations. I wanted to document us watching How To Train Your Dragon on our TV and totally loved the digital TV in the Sweet Stamp Shop retired digi files no. 1. If you haven't check them out, they're pretty awesome.

Mixed Media Tutorial: 5 Mixed Media Essentials You Can Find Around Your House

So, this week has been busy taking the kids to and from VBS and other family appointments. This means, I don't really have a tutorial for you this week. Not to mention it's been raining and gray so it's been a rough week for getting photos of anything.

BUT, I was asked last week in one of the pocket scrapbooking Facebook groups for a list of items that would be good for someone just wanting to get into mixed media. I thought this would be the perfect opportunity to do just that.

Mixed Media Journal Card Sighting!

Oh! I can't even begin to tell you how thrilled I am to see you guys taking a leap and trying out the mixed media tutorials and sharing them with me. I'm truly honored, so keep them coming!

Today I want to share some cards created by Amber of aMbAjU Creates. She shared them in the Facebook group, Project Lifers, and then she shared these finished beauties with me after she embellished them. I really LOVE this first one with the different colors! This one is my favorite of the bunch!

May 2014 - Week 20 in my weekly pocket scrapbook album

First, I want to wish everyone a Happy Memorial Day! Today while we are enjoying some much needed family time, we will also be thinking of and remembering those lost while fighting for our freedom and the freedom of others.

We've been so very busy lately that I've been forgetting to take photos. Thankfully, I captured some photos of Moriah at her ballet recital, otherwise I would have only had three photos this week, eek. At least, I remembered to snap a shot of Jen Hatmaker who made us laugh and cry and have a wonderful night out with girlfriends. I don't think we ever got to sit down and relax all week.

May 2014 - Week 19 in my weekly scrapbook album

One of my favorite things about vacation is all the photos from the week. That means, I usually have so many photos that I need to include an insert. Since this week starts on the right side of the album instead of the left side, I didn't want to split up the week with a two page spread that was back-to-back instead of facing each other. That meant using an insert and squeezing a ton of photos in it.

I was excited because the photos from the week before we went on vacation fit perfectly on a Design H page protector, that left a Design A and Design H two page spread for the vacation photos. It turned out perfectly.

First, I wanted to show you an up close photo of how I altered this card. I received an affiliate welcome gift from Simon Say Stamps over the weekend and I couldn't wait to play with the goodies. I'm seriously in LOVE with the ink pads, the yummy stamps and the coordinating die cut. This may be my new favorite pocket card and I can't wait to share with you the techniques I used to create this card.

April 2014 - Week 16 in my scrapbook album

We just got back from a little trip to Indy to see some friends and family. It's been such a crazy whirlwind of a week. It seems like I blinked and it's a new week again. Because we went out of town, I didn't have as much time to work on my page as much as I normally like to. I did do a little bit of mixed media messy fun though.
