Planner Dashboard Releases and Freebie

I've had these digital papers sitting on my desktop for awhile. Every once in awhile I get the urge to play in Photoshop for a bit. I finally decided to get the in the shop. I have more on the way including a mixed media set and a gold set.

Black and White Geometric Digital Papers | 12 x 12" digital papers by Heather Greenwood Designs

I've also converted them into planner sizes, these are fun, but for the best value I personally would grab the 12"x12" papers and then use the freebie template at the bottom of this post to convert them into planner sizes. Then you can have the papers in all the sizes. I did however make it easy if you just want to get them sized already.

Chasing Dreams - Digital Mixed Media Art Journal Page

It's BYOC (Build Your Own Collab) Friday at The Lilypad and once again it's AMAZING! The colors were picked out by the winner of the DSD (Digital Scrapbook Day) contest at the Pad. It's always my favorite color scheme that comes from it. The voting is hard but the outcome is worth it.

Let Me Breathe - Digital Mixed Media Art Journal Page

It's Froggy Friday over at The Lilypad and I had fun creating a page using guest designers Sissy Sparrows' new release this week, Mended Teacups.

a digital mixed media art journaling page using Mended Teacups digital kit by Sissy Sparrows, guest designer at The Lilypad

They had created a technique tutorial in the M3 (Mixed Media Monthly) forum on using blending options in Photoshop. I had fun playing with that technique on this page. I love how it brings out the textures of the layers underneath it and makes digital paint look more realistic.

Mixed Media Art Journaling: EnJOY Your Life

I can't tell you how good it feels to do some digital mixed media art again. I was able to do a page while the kids were working on some school work and didn't have to bring out all my supplies and could just have some fun playing with digital collage in Photoshop. It's new release Froggy Friday at The Lilypad and I'm in love with the kit by Sissy Sparrows. It was just perfect for putting together another page with my One Little Word®: JOY

October/November 2014: Week 44 in our weekly pocket scrapbook album

This was the week of Ali Edwards' Week In The Life, so I had a million photos. I still do both the Week In The Life album seperately and one page in my scrapbook album. The scrapbook album is just a summary of the week. The Week In The Life album is much more detailed.

I've actually been working on my Week In The Life album and hope to have it done this weekend. I've got all the photos sorted and inserted in the album. I've also filled it with journal cards and papers already. Next will be the fun part of documenting and embellishing. I like getting it done as soon as possible so everything is fresh in my mind.

Anyways, it's BYOC (Build Your Own Collab) weekend at The Lilypad and I had so much fun putting this together. It's been a busy week here so I went with simple and done, but still "me".

Digital Art Journaling | Spread Your Wings And Fly

I haven't done a digital art journaling page in a very long time. I've really enjoyed getting messy and creating with paint. My friend Juliana Kneipp is retiring and I couldn't resist playing with her very last kit, follow your he{art}.

I've got a lot going on right now, some things I can't wait to share with you. This kit was just too perfect for all that's going on in my art world. This page literally came together in minutes. I'm totally going to print it out and frame it above my desk.

While I'm sad that Ju is no longer going to be designing, I'm super excited about what she's been doing. She has been posting the most amazing photographs in her photography business and it was time for her to let go of designing to pursue her photography. God has blessed her with an amazing gift of design and photography and while I'll miss her, I'm loving watching what God is doing in her photography business.

October 2014 - Week 40 in my pocket scrapbook album and some changes to the blog...

Phew!!! That's a really long title, LOL! I've been doing a lot of thinking about the blog and my creative team responsibilities and our homeschool routine and decided to make some changes to the routine on the blog.

Since the beginning, I've been posting my weekly pocket pages on Mondays, workflow tutorials on Wednesdays and mixed media tutorials on Fridays and then recently added in the art journal Bible tutorials on Thursdays.

The problem with sharing my pages on Mondays is that the sale is that I'm usually using new releases for my creative team requirements at The Lilypad, but the sale is over. So, I will now be moving them to Fridays. I'm hoping that if you're inspired by my pages and want that product, you'll be able to get them while they are on sale instead of afterwards.

What does that mean for the mixed media tutorials? Well, I'm just going to switch them to Mondays. These tutorials were a much bigger hit than I anticipated and I find that with our homeschool schedule it's difficult for me to get photos and projects done during the week.

Have I told you yet that homeschooling this year is kicking my butt? I still love it, it's just taking a lot more time and energy and I need to focus on them during the week and writing/photography during the weekends. Thankfully, I have a super supportive husband who knows how much this blog means to me, and I couldn't do this without him.

So, we've skipped week 39, which is actually done... but I wanted to share Week 40 with you while the digital supplies are on sale at The Lilypad. I'm sooooo in LOVE with the Mixed Media Monthly kits and add-ons and couldn't wait to use them.

Speaking of The Lilypad, this was the week that I went with some friends to Kansas to hang out and scrapbook... we just all happen to know each other from The Lilypad, so I couldn't resist using the awesome kits for this page. Hubby and the kiddos went to Michigan and had a blast!

Journal Card Freebie: Birthday Gift For You From Me

Tomorrow is my 41st birthday which means today is my last day of being 40, EEK! I will have to admit that 40 was great! I was worried last year that I would hate middle age, but this year proved me wrong.

This year I finally figured out who God created me to be and am moving forward in being "ME" and doing what God gifted me to do. I am so incredibly full of joy, even on the tough days. I can't even tell you how fulfilling this year has been.

This blog has been such a joy teaching and inspiring! I look forward to many more years with you!

Hubby will confirm that my love language is "gifts". I always like sharing and giving gifts and designed these cards for you. It was fun putting these together and I hope you like them as much as I do. I can't wait to print them out and use them in my special birthday insert I do for each of us every year in my Project Life album.

Workflow Wednesday: How To Create Unique Journal Cards Using Silhouette Studio® Cut Files and Patterns

Last week we created print and cut labels for our pocket scrapbook pages, this week we're going to take it a step further and create our own journal cards from cut files found in the Silhouette Online Store and a few different techniques I didn't share last week.

Workflow Wednesday: Silhouette Software Introduction and Freebies

I'm excited to start a new part of this workflow series and this month I will be sharing tutorials for using the Silhouette die cutting machine and software. I love this machine, it can do so much and has saved me a lot of time and sore fingers the past 1-1/2 years.

It's definitely a luxury but it's been an investment I really don't regret even a tiny bit. I'm really looking forward to sharing a few simple tutorials on how I use my Silhouette Portrait in my weekly pocket scrapbook album.

In Difficult Times: Breathe Collaboration with Studio Basic Designs

I'm so excited to share this fun project with you. Ever since Rubia and I collaborated several months ago with our Brush of Life journal card bundle, we've been talking about doing another collaboration! A few weeks ago, right before heading out on vacation to Nashville, I asked her what she thought about doing a full kit in addition to journal cards. She agreed and I'm so excited to share with you this project!

Rubia came up with the theme and color scheme and I think we've all been there. Sometimes we just need to take a deep breath and just breathe. I also love that this kit is so versatile and can really be used for anything, traditional scrapbooking, art journaling, and pocket scrapbooking. I actually used it for my weekly pocket scrapbook album which had nothing to do with difficult times.

Heather Greenwood Designs | In Difficult Times: Breathe | a collaboration with Studio Basic Designs | digital scrapbook kit and journaling cards pack

Remember when I said I had packed a ton of stuff to bring on vacation with me? Well, I also went to Michaels to pick up some paint to match our color scheme. I had tons of fun painting, paper piecing, doodling and drawing during our free time. This kit and these cards came together so easily and I loved it.

This pretty much sparked an interest in designing and we'll see once we start homeschooling again if this is something I have the time for. I hope you enjoy this kit as much as I do. I love being able to create my own journal cards and had a blast creating my own papers and elements for the kit. I think Rubia seriously inspires me. We make pretty things together, for sure! I can't wait to collaborate with her again!

I'll be back on Monday to give you a closer look at my Week 34 pocket scrapbook page using the bundle (kit and journaling cards). The kit contains 21 papers, and alpha and 100+ elements. The journaling card pack contains two 4x6 cards and eight 3x4 cards.
