On Cherry Street Blog Hop - July 2014 - Week 27 pocket scrapbook insert

Welcome to the On Cherry Street Blog Hop, you arrived here from Evelin's blog.

Are you getting inspired by all the great projects using the On Cherry Street Magical kit and the coordinating Sweet Stamp Shop stamp sets? I know I am! I'm blown away by the talent of the team!

As I promised yesterday, I'm back with the 4th of July and more vacation pictures and stories insert in my Project Life pocket scrapbook album! I had lots of fun putting this insert together. I'll be honest, I was a little worried about being able to do another project with the kit since I'd already used several of the cards already in this Disney honeymoon page in my wedding album, but cutting up the cards and a little extra paper from a paper pad worked out perfectly.

For the 4th of July front side of the insert, I focused on the photos we got from the local newspaper as well as Mark's bike ride on the trails since he was wearing a red top and it matched... don't tell anyone that it wasn't actually on the 4th of July but another day of the week LOL.

For the top card, you'll recognize the mixed media stamp embossing card that uses all the stars in the new releases.

For the middle/right card, you'll recognize the card I made for my 4th of July post over on the Sweet Stamp Shop Blog

I also added some paper layers to those two cards. I used bits and pieces of paper from a Studio Calico paper pack and trimmed and layered them to bring the whole page together.

For the bottom card, I wanted to add more navy stamping to the page to tie in the navy stars and stamped the "We came. We saw. We Conquered" stamp from the kit twice with the same navy ink.

BACK SIDE OF INSERT

For the back side of the Week 27 insert, the kids had caught a couple frogs in my parents' backyard and we got a photo of it and this "Keep Calm and Kiss A Frog" card was just too perfect... especially with the "or not" stamp!

For the top card, I trimmed off the "or not" part of the 3"x4" card to use on the frog photo card and thought it was perfect for these photos of the kids not looking at the camera when we asked them to, lol. We did so much that week that I thought the "We came..." stamp was perfect again for the back side and then I did all sorts of journaling.

For the middle cards, I left the "...kiss a frog" card as is and then stamped the "or not." stamp down the strip of paper. The solid green card is the leftover from me trimming the 4"x6" Walt Disney quote card in 1/2. I also stamped the crown on the photo and colored it in with a Wink of Stella gold glitter brush, and added the left over "or not" from the top card.

For the bottom card, I wanted the quote to face horizontally, so I cut the card in half and adhered it to the top corner of the paper. Easy Peasy... and I totally love how it turned out.

Now it's time to hop on over to Jennie's blog for the next stop on the On Cherry Street Blog Hop. ENJOY!!!
