Do you ever add inserts in your albums? Do you have an extra page just for special events like birthdays or celebrations?
I wanted to add an insert for Mark's birthday and for Eat Ice Cream for Breakfast Day. I decided to dig into my ever growing stash of papers and cards. I had fun adding my own signature style to these pages and added a little mixed media to them.

For Mark's Birthday insert, I shared how I created the top and bottom cards by painting with Gelatos.
I then splattered some mist on them. I will have you know that sometimes we learn from making mistakes and I was sad to see the ink running through the wood grain and not getting the look I was after. Next time, I'll be sure to not that and use some of my stamps to get the look of splattered paint.
I couldn't resist doodling the outline of the words "sweet" on the bottom card. It just makes the words really pop from the page.

For this one I had room for each of our photos and so I didn't have a lot of room for embellishing, but Just Jaimee's kit was just the perfect addition to finish it off. I altered them a little bit since it wasn't really ice cream, but frozen fruit and coconut milk.
This page totally makes me giggle. I love how Asher wouldn't let me take a photo of him that morning. Every time I grabbed the camera he'd hide his face. Can you tell he's not a morning person? LOL
Mark's expression, oh goodness, he just makes me laugh. He's a dork, but I love him so much. Kuddos to him for making me look good in the morning. Asher got his morning grumpiness from me, poor kid.
