March 2014 - Page 4 (week 12)

Oh goodness, I had a ton of fun putting together this page!

We had so much going on that week with St. Patrick's Day and Eat Ice Cream for Breakfast day. I wanted to play with some gelatos and let's just say that I filled every single white space with color and it makes me HAPPY HAPPY HAPPY!!! I really do love getting messy and I definitely did this week. I also made sure to work with some of my every growing stash too.

Really Quite Blessed by Emily Merritt
Becky Higgins Project Life Design A page protectors and journaling pens, Amy Tangerine Plus One 12x12 papers and bits, Studio Calico enamel dots, wood veneer and Blue Note Project Life kit, assorted Thickers, Design Memory Craft Gelatos, Faber-Castell Water Brush, Tombow adhesive, Heidi Swapp ink and mist, TobyMac FB photo, Photoshop CS5, Canon Pixma printer, Neenah Bright White cardstock, Fiskars paper trimmer

Here's a close up of the cards, so you can see more of what I did to alter each of them...

Can you tell that the "2" is actually a "z" and "3" that I Franken-created? I was out of 2s so I cut the top of a "z" off and the top of a "3" to put them together. I'm pretty impressed with myself, lol.

I mixed a few colors of blue and green for the center of the card, (tutorial coming on Friday) and then added some pink and orange on the top and bottom. I took some Heidi Swapp Color Shine to splatter on top and journaled around the frame.

Prior to printing, I used my freebie hybrid print templates to create the card on the left. I used Emily Merrit's card and then added the sun strip from CD Muckosky's pack to on top... so it's actually one card with the photo adhered on top. The card on the right is one of Valeria's cards. I'm seriously in LOVE with her handmade cards lately. She's so very gifted and I also get to call her friend. What more can I ask for?! I took the wood veneers from the Studio Calico Printshop collection and dipped them in Heidi Swap ink and then splattered on some Heidi Swapp Color Shine.

The card on the left was just too perfect for Ice Cream for Breakfast Day... To make it more "me", I just added some Gelatos to the bottom part and outlined the photo with Heidi Swapp Color Shine. The card on the right I'm going to share what I did in a tutorial coming soon. This card looks nothing like what it started out to be. ;)

This is my favorite card for this week. I used Emily Merritt's cards and using Photoshop I extracted the heart and the "truly blessed" doodles/handwriting and added them to CD Muckosky's card which I clipped to my print template to get the size I needed for the pocket. I added the little bit from Amy Tangerine's collection and some enamel dots and was happy with how it turned out.

This was tons of fun to make. The card is completely white with just the "saturday + Sunday" script in orange. I started adding some orange Gelatos underneath the days and then some yellow and then I just couldn't stop and kept going, then I went back and added pink to the top. I wasn't planning on filling the whole page but, I was just having too much fun playing. I then splashed on some Heidi Swapp Color Shine and dipped the Studio Calico Printshop wood veneer into some Heidi Swapp ink and add that on top of the Amy Tangerine Plus One bits pieces. I love rainbows and love how this came out.

So, tell me... do you like to alter your cards or leave them as-is? If you alter your cards, I'd love to see them. If there is any technique I've done that you'd like to know how to do, let me know. I'd love more ideas for tutorials to help you create pocket pages that you love.
