I am having a blast checking out everyone's Naptime Diaries Advent projects. I chose to make a little mixed media art journal mini album and am embedding the calendar cards into my pages. I'm not worried about the art though it's my "me" time in my crazy days. My goal is to spend more time really soaking in my notes and the devotional from the day.
I am totally LOVING the devotionals, so let me show you what I've been taking from the devotionals and putting onto my pages.
- DAY ONE - goodness, I totally needed that reminder that HE came to turn my tired and weary and stressed, into REDEEMED and VICTORIOUS! I seriously need to wake up to this reminder every day. Oh, by the way, I'm decorating and writing in my devotional too, FUN!
- DAY TWO - You have no idea the timing of this devotional, well my friend Shanna does, but oh my goodness, Nick totally hit me in the head and the heart with this one. I've said before that this past year has been a roller-coaster and I totally needed this self evaluation. I totally jumped for joy when I figured out my breakthrough. Seriously, all the tears and anxiety I had been feeling lately were totally gone... ok, maybe not totally gone, but with this issue, YES!
- DAY THREE: I so totally LOVED the prayer at the end. This is one of my favorite Psalms and so I wanted to write it out. I'm kinda giggling at how my scripture writing is totally slanted when I'm writing in bed before I get up for the morning, LOL.
Do you want to know how I created my pages for my Advent Art Worship Journal?
So
often when I share my art, people ask me about the tools... What
paints and inks I use, what paper works best, how I organize my
supplies. And while I love talking about this part of creating, I
feel like they're missing something. It's true that I can't create
without supplies, but I also can't create if my eyes aren't fixed on my
creator. My faith is a HUGE part of my creation process... but
people don't ask about that!
This is why I'm so excited to be taking part in an event that focuses on
the intersection between faith and art, Truth Scrap.
TruthScrap is the latest event produced by my friend Lain Ehmann. These
live, online events offer the best in LIVE papercrafting instruction,
brought right to you via your computer. That's right, no need to pack
up all your supplies. No need to leave the family. No need to eat
lousy convention center food. Instead, the classes come right to YOU.
And it's all recorded so you can watch again and again after the
event!
Truth Scrap on January 31, 2015, is going to be simply AMAZING! Just
log in from your computer and soak in classes from SEVEN unique
instructors, each sharing her heart and her art. You'll learn about
our best skills and techniques, but you'll also hear how our faith
enables us to create passionately.

more!
These
