Art Journal Bible: Deli Paper Collage Tutorial

While I was away in Kansas on a scrapbook retreat with dear friends, I was able to get some painting done. I actually didn't do any scrapbooking, but just bought several bottles of acrylic paint and had some fun with my Gelli plate making deli paper prints.

These were perfect for adding to my Art Journal Bible, and I'm going to show you how easy it is to do.

HOW TO - DELI PAPER COLLAGE

  • I have a huge stash now of deli paper prints! I took a few of them and cut them in 1" strips.

  • I then used a glue stick along the back of them to tack them down to the page and trimmed the edges.

  • I then took some washi tape and using gel medium glued it down. I used the trimmed pieces and stuck them over the top of the washi tape to add even more texture and fun to the background. That's it, super easy peesy!

Here's the rest of my process for finishing the journal entry...

I went into my stash, I chose the cream/tan/brown container of embellishments and stuck them down. I then grabbed my alphabet stickers and added those for my journaling.

I put a layer of gel medium over the top of everything to make sure the stickers stayed there and didn't eventually fall off.

Lastly, I took my black and white Signo pens and added my doodling and journaling. It smeared because I was too impatient to let it dry, but I love the imperfections! It's always a reminder that it doesn't matter what it looks like, just that I'm spending time in worship and study of HIS WORD.
