Oh SNAP! I found this piece in my scrapbooking supplies and totally giggled thinking David's brothers must have totally felt that way after God chose the "runt" of the family to be the next king.
I had fun putting this together and wanted to share with you my most favorite and least expensive tool in my art supplies... my fingers! I LOVE finger-painting. It's so much fun and I hope you will dive in to your paints, take a trip back to your childhood days and have some fun too.
After I gesso'd my margins. I put a little bit of gold paint on my craft mat. I then dipped my index finger in and painted it on the margins. I chose gold since we're talking about God choosing the next king.
I then thought purple is another royalty color, so I put a little bit of purple paint on my mat, grabbed some punchinella. Using my index finger again, I dabbed my fingers in the circles in a few places.
Next, I grabbed some Heidi Swapp Mustard Color Shine, sprayed a little on my mat and grabbed another stencil. Using my index finger again, I dabbed on some of the mist through the stencil.
Last, I grabbed some gold modeling cream and another stencil and dabbed the cream on through the stencil.
To finish it off I grabbed some stickers and rubbed some more gold paint on them and added my notes from the message. To tone down the purple a little bit, I dabbed on some white acrylic paint with my fingers. This was a lot of fun and I can't wait to see you get your fingers messy and have some fun too.
