Mixed Media Tutorial: Turning Silver Charms Into Gold

HI!!! It's been far too long since I've done a mixed media tutorial. I couldn't resist sharing with you a technique that I've been using a lot recently with my planners. I love adding charms to my planners but it seems like a lot of the charms I find are silver. I'm obsessed with the gold trend and wanted to find a way to change the cute charms into gold charms.

Last month while I was on vacation, I guest blogged on the Punk Projects blog with a fun mixed media frame painting tutorial and I'm excited to have Katie join me here this week to share these fun mixed media background tutorials! Hi everyone, I'm Katie from Punk Projects. I love scrapbooking and card making. I've been getting more and more into mixed media and I love using mixed media techniques on my cards and layouts.

Today I wanted to share how I made these fun, artsy backgrounds for these cards using Tim Holtz alcohol inks. If you haven't tried alcohol inks, they're a lot of fun to play with. I'm just sharing a couple of my favorite ways to use them, but there are lots of techniques online.

You're going to need glossy paper (photo paper or yupo paper works good.), alcohol inks, alcohol ink blending solution, and an alcohol ink applicator. Time to get messy!
