Mixed Media Tutorial: Turning Silver Charms Into Gold

HI!!! It's been far too long since I've done a mixed media tutorial. I couldn't resist sharing with you a technique that I've been using a lot recently with my planners. I love adding charms to my planners but it seems like a lot of the charms I find are silver. I'm obsessed with the gold trend and wanted to find a way to change the cute charms into gold charms.

I promise you, this tutorial is crazy easy and if you're anything like me, you'll be changing all your charms to gold! All you need is a cotton swab, gold alcohol ink and cute charms.

STEP ONE: Shake up your alcohol ink and then squirt some on the tip of your cotton swab.

STEP TWO: I like to put down a piece of scratch cardboard. You do not want to get this on anything because it's difficult to remove. I'm just using the packaging from these adorable tassels. Then you'll rub the cotton swab onto the charm, being careful not to get it on the parts you don't want colored, like the black enamel of the cross pictured above or the leather or the tassels.

STEP THREE: Let dry and assemble your charms. EASY PEASY and sooooo addictive! HAVE FUN!!! Once dry, it's permanent, that's the best part!
