Scrappin' Saturday 12/15

OK... I know, it's been a month since my last post... I had good intentions of catching up on Project Life and applying for the Project Life creative team... and at the last minute instead of pressing send on my application I decided to hit delete... it's just not the right time for me to possibly be adding that as another project to keep up with and I am at peace with my decision. I don't even know if I'll be doing Project Life in 2013, I'm just trying to simplify my life right now and after yesterday's tragedy in CT, I want to simplify even moreso. I'll be documenting memories and stuff but I just don't want to put a project on my to-do list every week.

Right now I'm working on my December Daily album and am in LOVE LOVE LOVE with it and can't wait to show you the pages when it's all complete. We've been sick this week so just taking it easy with the project and just enjoying cuddles and time together, even moreso after yesterday. I just want to hold my kiddos tight and never let go. My heart just aches for those families and that community. It also makes me sad to think that it takes a tragedy to realize how precious and short life is. I know that we don't see God's plan in this whole thing but I pray for healing and peace in our nation. I pray for eyes opened to the needs around us and that we can help our neighbors out in their time of need. I pray for love and compassion around the world and in our neighborhood and joy in this season which seems to be sooo hard on many.

That being said, I wasn't planning on scrapping last night, after being gone all day and basically being home just to make a dr appt and get my big dude ready to go get his ears checked, and then be home for dinner and to get ready for bed... I decided to spend the night in the kids' room chatting with them and telling them how much I love them and watching their imaginations grow and play shadow puppets. After that I let them get some sleep so they could get rid of their colds and came downstairs and just opened up Photoshop and my unused folder and just let things speak to me... this is really what art journaling is about... just letting my mind go and seeing what comes of it... after a couple hours, I finally felt I was done and this would be my LOTW (Layout of the Week).
