Date Night Paint Nite Fun
My husband and I have been making a habit of doing creatively fun things on our dates lately. While it's nice to get out and have a nice dinner the two of us, or go to a movie; we've found that we really enjoy the creative dates so much more. A few months ago hubby found a Groupon for Paint Nite and bought it. He is totally not into arts and crafts so I was surprised and excited that he wanted to do this with me.
I got to pick out the art piece. He didn't feel confident in himself to pick. It said it was "easy" so I expected it to be more of a paint by numbers type thing. I was pleasantly surprised. Our instructor did a great job at teaching us how to mix colors and the blending techniques. It was so cool to see how different everyone's piece came out.
I was totally impressed with the little monster truck he painted in the bottom corner in honor of our boys. I told him he should have done the monster truck as the main part of the painting instead of the flower and use the same techniques.
The boys are so excited about daddy's painting because of the truck. I'm not a huge fan of purple, so I ended up tweaking mine a bit and adding some Liquitex Basics aqua paint to the background. We had so much fun chit chatting and laughing and hubby says that he really wants to do it again. I can't wait to go again!!!
