Project Life 2013 - Cover Page and Week 1

So, I kept saying that I was really excited to share my album for this year with you and because of my OCD tendancies, I wanted to wait until I had 2012 finished before I started sharing my Project Life from this year... so everyday for the next few weeks I'll be sharing a week's spread with you until we're caught up to where I actually am in my album... I've actually done a ton better this year at keeping up and I think it's because I've changed my focus and am not doing as many digital layouts as I have done in the past. I'm really enjoying the Project Life process and spending time in my art journal and learning new mixed media skills this year and doing Project Life hybrid has become my greatest joy. I really forgot how much I love playing with paper and just the fact that there are soooo many more options for designs and styles when I do hybrid... it really is the best of both worlds :)

For my cover page, I decided to finally use my digital Becky Higgins Project Life Clementine Core Kit... I don't know what took me so long but I just ADORE the colors and everything... I'm not surprised considering how much I love Lili, the designer of it. I also used a bunch of embellishments that I had gotten for December Daily... let's just say I had a LOT left over and will be using a bunch of it for many years to come LOL... plus, I got these really cute alpha stamps from Wal-Mart... aren't they fun?!

The start of a new year and my baby boy turns 2... I wanted to be sure I included some quotes and stuff from the kids in my album, and not just the everyday stuff. I also wanted to record my One Little Word for the year... which I obviously haven't been doing such a great job with LOL... I started out the year using these week journal cards and writing everything we've done on the card for the week... but you see that after about 3 months I did away with them. I was keeping it in for consistency, but if you know my personality I like to switch things up quite a bit. :) I also used an x-acto knife to cut out the frame in the left side page, middle row, third pocket in... let's just say that I'm very happy to have my Silhouette cutting machine now, LOL!!!
